Paul Conn has been the president of Lee University since 1986. Since his inauguration, Lee has experienced tremendous growth.
A graduate of Lee in 1967, Conn continued to Georgia State University and then to Emory University, where he earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology. Soon thereafter, he returned to Lee to develop the budding psych major, where he taught for 14 years.
During this time, he spent two years in post-doctoral study at Harvard, where he studied under Lawrence Kohlberg, the moral development theorist. He has also published several books on various public figures in business, politics, sports, and entertainment.
In 1984, Conn was appointed vice president of Institutional Advancement. He served in this position for two years, until becoming President. During his administration, Conn has continued teaching in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
Conn, born in Leadwood, Mo., has lived most of his life in Cleveland, Tenn. He is married to Darlia Conn, who teaches piano in Lee's School of Music and accompanies music students in their formal recitals. They have three married children, Vanessa, Heather, and Brian, all graduates of Lee. Conn enjoys reading and snowskiing, but most of all, he enjoys spending time with his children and nine grandchildren.
