Dr. Louis F. Morgan serves Lee University as an assistant professor and the Librarian for Public Service and Learning. A native of Morgantown, Mississippi, he is a 1998 graduate of Lee University with a B.A. in History and Communication, Public Relations. In addition, he graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2002 with a M.S. in Information Science. He is a 2009 graduate of Regent University with the Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, and he received the 2009 Outstanding Graduate Award from the School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Regent University. Dr. Morgan is a member of the American Library Association and the Tennessee Library Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors. He also serves as Second Vice-President of the Historical Society of Church of God Movements.
In addition to his work in the library, Dr. Morgan is actively involved on campus by teaching courses in Christian leadership and freshman study skills, serving as a Strengths Vocational Advisor, and advising students with undeclared majors. He is also a member of the Critical Thinking Task Force and Faculty Council. In 2007, he received the Excellence in Advising Award, one of three top honors awarded annually to Lee University faculty. He also received the prestigious James E. Ward Library Instruction Award from the Tennessee Library Association in 2007.
Dr. Morgan is a frequently published author, public speaker, and is actively involved in community service. His hobbies and interests include reading, traveling, writing, fishing, gardening, karate, and playing video games. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and being with family and friends – keeping life simple and good.
