Michael Sturgeon has been employed at Lee University since 1996.He is the Faculty Coordinator of Instructional Technology; this is his passion. Training faculty and staff in instructional design and technology says it all. His work includes multimedia design, video editing, and education. Sturgeon teaches various levels of web design, graphic design, multimedia developing and how to use technology in the classroom for education students. Aside from his primary responsibilities as Lee's instructional technologist, he also works closely with the faculty, assisting them in building websites and designing materials for out of class students, as well as in class.
Before coming to Lee, Sturgeon served on the staff of Palm Beach Atlantic College; he is a native of the Florida Keys. He and his wife Carla have two children, Travis and Ashleigh, adopted from China in 2002. Sturgeon enjoys general reading, language studies (specifically Russian), traveling to Ukraine, teaching and research. Sturgeon was honored as a Senior Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine, where where he went as a lecturer as well as studied language learning using technologies of the 21st century.
